Eugene B. Hawk of Blountsville, Tennessee, received an A.B. degree, Bachelor of Divinity, from Vanderbilt University. He had also attended Emory Univeristy and Henry College. E. B. Hawk lived in Walnut Springs, Bosque County, Texas, in 1910. He was a Methodist minister. He was pastor of Blooming Grove Methodist Church in 1913. In 1920, Eugene B. Hawk and his sons, Hiram P. and Richard B., lived on Vaughan Street in Polytechnic city (Fort Worth), Tarrant County, Texas. In 1930, Eugene B. Hawk lived in Fort Worth, Texas. From 1925 until 1931, E. B. Hawk was the pastor of the First Methodist Church of Fort Worth. In 1931, he accepted the pastorate of the 4th Avenue Methodist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1933, Dr. E. B. Hawk became the new dean of the School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. E. B. Hawk was vice president and acting president of SMU, 1938-1939. He married February 1939, Gainesville, to Aloha Morris. Dallas Morning News, 12 February 1939: Dr. Hiram P. Hawk of Gainesville, married Miss Aloha Morris, daughter of Mrs. Nora Morris, Gainesville. He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. E. B. Hawk, 3833 McFarlin. Dr. Hawk came to Gainesville in 1938 and is in partnership with Dr. C. B. Thayer. Dr. Hawk graduated from Baylor Medical School, the University of Louisville, and Texas Christian University. |
