His father, Jefferson M. Dunaway, lived with them in 1910.[2952] Jeff and Joe A. Dunaway lived in Ellis County, in 1920[2953] and 1930.[2954]

Waxahachie Daily Light, Monday, 8 October 1956: Mrs. Joe A. Dunaway, 87 years of age and an Ellis County resident all her life died Sunday. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. She was born 23 March 1869, Bethel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Forrester. Her husband died in 1943. Survivors: son, Waldo Dunaway; four daughters, Mrs. Dow McGregor of Waxahachie, Mrs. Osce Claunch of Maypearl, Mrs. Fred Sherwood of Childress, and Mrs. Thurber Lord of Dallas, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Louella Wishard of Waxahachie.[2955] [Mrs. Thurber Lord wasn’t her daughter. She was her niece, Dahlia Forrester].
