87. Francis R.6Daniel (Frances5Sims, William4, Bruster3, Edward2, William1), called Frank, was born 9 July 1821, Maury County, Tennessee, died 5 March 1903, Dallas County, Texas. He married circa 1845, Alabama, to Mary Frances Robinson (Robertson), born 4 December 1826, Virginia, died 22 March 1904, Dallas County, Texas. They are buried in Daniel Cemetery, Airline at Milton, University Park (Dallas), Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Daniel moved to Texas from Pickens County, Alabama, in December 1849. Francis Daniel, his wife, and two elder sons, Edward and Wilton Daniel, settled at Farmers Branch where they lived for a year and then moved to the hill on which Dallas Hall of Southern Methodist Univeristy now stands. They built a log house near Turtle Creek northwest of Southern Methodist University. Dallas Morning News, 7 March 1903: Francis R. Daniel, aged 81 years, died yesterday six miles north of this city. Mr. Daniel was born in Tennessee and came to this county fifty-three years ago. He was well known among the old residents of this city. Francis R. Daniel lived in Dallas County, Texas, in 1850 and 1860. In 1860, F. R. Daniel owned 125 acres of improved land and 700 acres of unimproved land in Dallas County, with a value of $8,250. He lived in Dallas County, Texas, in 1870, 1880, and 1900. |
